share with all of you. I saw this article at somewhere.

Fuel Saving Method:

CAR MAINTENANCE

Engine:
•Engine to be in good condition and tuned up
•Spark plugs must be in good condition.
•Regularly serviced, as per recommended intervals.
•Dirty air cleaners restrict air flow into your engine.

Wheel Alignment & Tyre Pressure
•Wheels must be properly aligned
•Tyre pressures must be correct. Under-inflated tyres will result in poor fuel consumption.
•Wider tyres use more fuel.

DRIVING ECONOMICALLY
1.Minimise engine idling
A running engine in a stationary car gets zero kilometres per litre.
2.Do not place foot on clutch (MT)
3.Be gentle with your right foot
Accelerate gently. Excess fuel pumped into the cylinders gets blown out through the exhaust.
Keep the engine revolutions low; find the ‘sweet spot’ in your engine. (usually around 2,000 rpm)
Try to keep RPM below 2,000 rpm.
   Minimise ‘lugging’ (rpm too low)
4.Anticipation
Anticipate traffic situations, lift off when approaching traffic lights – minimise your braking.
5.Get to 4th gear ASAP (AT)
Driving too slow will cause transmission downshift.
6.MT – Get to 5th gear ASAP
   Driving too slow causes ‘lugging’
7.Minimise weight
Do not carry unnecessary weight in your vehicle.
8.Air-conditioners need fuel
Run with air-cond off when the weather permits.
9.Minimise weight
Do not carry unnecessary weight in your vehicle.

With current fuel price, on a very empty tank, i fill up RM 40 (22.22L) i can clock about 330-340km...that works out to about 11cents per km?  Am I right?  Mine is a 1.6E and this is for city driving.  As for outstation, KL-Penang, full tank about RM95.00, reach penang after 372km, still hv 3 quarter tank, average speed 120km...

My Altis 2008 average 9 km/l in S'pore with 17' rims. Purely City Drive, STOP and GO! Those Altisan with Good Fuel Consumption > 10 km/l, i really admire you all a lot

p/s: The stock fuel calculator is quite accurate with my own calculation with error tolarance of 0.5 km/l.

Very easy. You use up all the petrol until very very close to the E sign (after the last bar).
You can feel the car is very very light and you feel the car like flying....

Then pump full tank (use credit card for payment) and you should know whether the tank is 50/55 litres.

But when you do that, make sure you are doing it nearby petrol station
OR have a small bottle of petrol ready... Grin  Grin

I did that last time and my car still able to move with the little left petrol.
I'm able to fill in 53 litre of petrol. Grin
