hello..all tai lou, ah ko, ah ji....I just join tis forum after get my 2nd hand altis.hihih...
My altis is year 2005. when i press the acceleration pedal, i can hear the woo..wooo.. sound. when i release it, the sound disappear. I feel that is the engine sound and all the altis is like that.
one day when  i seat on my friend's altis year 07, i feel like his car don't have tis sound and feel more quiet and comfortable. Is it because of my wind seal old already and the sound proof not so efficient? Or got any problem on my car...I need you all expert some advise....thx

9th gen has no sound proof at all, Vios also has no sound proof. Engine sound is very noisy even u are inside the car.

You can't hear much external noise for Camry.

not like turbo sound. the sound consistently when you press acceleration until around 60km/h, then you hardly can hear the sound as the tyres sound become louder and you hardly can hear like hew..hew...noise. it seem like engine sound or fuel injection sound.
My friend altis also 9th gen (but year 07) but I hardly can hear tis sound so I just curious maybe some where old already and need to change...

Suggest you to send your car to outside mechanic to check if your car is no more cover under warranty. My altis is end of year 2007 (9th gen) has no such sound. I only can hear engine sound which I think is normal.

Tyre - Bridgestone 195 x 55 x 16 -

You have to hear the sound very carefully, where it comes from? Before u send the car to the mechanic.

Bro Ah Loh, I had the same experience when my car is at a certain speed the last time.  Then check with workship...  wheel bearing sound...  Grin

I rather hope it is not gearbox sound...

SO happy to see so many comment over here!!! Grin
I think is not the bearing...when i release the acceleration pedal, the noise reduce a lot.
so i suspect is the engine sound...
the scenario is like tat: in 1st gear you can hear the noise clearly when you press the acceleration pedal, when it change from 1st to 2nd gear, it will reduce a bit and increase back. it look like we drive manual car, change gear n release the acceleration pedal, the sound reduce and go back when press back the pedal.
I think is also not the tyre as normally you can hear clearly the noisy at the 1st to 3rd gear as the car speed is low...so maybe the engine sound is louder. My tyre is 2 Micheline and 2 Goodyear. 205x55x16
I would like to know, when your car stop with the engine started, can you hear your engine sound or the belt rotation sound? I can hear that but not loud. So, i think there are few possibilities,
1. my engine sound really loud and got problem
2. some where rubber seal on the car to prevent engine sound worn off or harden and not function properly.
3. older altis definately like tat
So, I am asking si fu around whether have this experience before.
I feel car car feel not so comfortable when in town as must drive in low speed in town and can hear/feel the gear changing sound.
