Hi all new toyota altis owner. Pls refer to your owners manual page 46 and follow the instruction given. i followed and after locking i can still open the trunk by cable and in alarm mode by remote without triggering the alarm. then what is the purpose of locking the trunk with key? i also own an older version altis, when i lock the trunk with key there is no way to open the trunk by cable or remote except with the key. i check with toyota and their new stocks are having the same problem. if yours is the same, then i think toyota should make a recall to fix this problem. check your car and lets see what toyota says. thanks Angry

I checked last night, boot can still be opened even though i've locked the boot using the key by turning it anti clockwise...

Thanks for this posting.

I will go and ask UMW nicely, this Saturday.... Cheesy
