I tried myself clean the air cond filter using normal household vacuum.

Steps :

DIACLAIMER : DO AT YOUR OWN RISK. DON'T USE ANY TOOLS TO OPEN ANYTHING. YOUR BARE HANDS ARE ENOUGH.DONT FORCE OPEN ANYTHING. GOOD LUCK.

1. Open glove compartment.
2. Take out the latch ( black colour )

3. Squeeze both side of the box inside and pull out the glove compartment
4. Open the filter cover.

After opened :

5. Take out the filter and vacuum and put back. ( A lot of insects were found trapped )
6. Make sure the filter put in right orientation.
7. Make sure the cover also in right orientation. Look for R
8. Fix back everything as before.

IS YOURS GOT FILTER OR NOT? Original doesnt have any filter.. Unless you cut down the black cover and then install the filter...

Aiyo, located at passenger seat, golve compartment ( drawer).
Open it, side got screw, unloose, take out drawer,
u will see it...
u see a black box but no opening,
but both side got clip holder,
means it suppose be air-con filter cartridge,
but UMW seem no installed for us.
So outside buy a filter with holder,
measure the holder size & use pen knife cut the cartidge follow holder size,
remove the cutted part, slot in air con filter holder (with fiter),
the holder both side got clip to hold at the black box.
Job done.
Put back drawer & screw back the screw.
Habis...
DIY is the king.

I bought the car used. Unless I mistook something else for the filter, I was able see the white filter element peeping thought the gap on the top part. Will check again.

bro andre...terrer la u...can take out the black cover sum more....did tried to take out a few times, but my giant hand cant go in....all i need to know is to take out the entire dashboard...

plus, i guess i have solved the outside air problem like most of the members do faced here...it's the sponge that stick on the plate that prevent the outside air...

u can c that plate once u take out the a/c filter...what you need to do is juz get a rubber foam, cut to the size & use double sided tape & stick on it....

Bro, never try with altis, but u can try refer to my Myvi at this link http://myvi.com.my/forum/index.php?topic=14498.0   , look at the bottom of the black box(blower box) usually could unscrew down there.
